The Peninsula Concert Band is a community band that has been entertaining audiences for over 70 years in the Tidewater Region of Virginia. Our musicians come from all walks and times of life. We are teachers and military musicians; EMTs and nurses; NASA engineers & ship builders; veterans and active duty military; homemakers and home builders; college professors and high school students, and so much more. Our musicians also come from all over the Tidewater region - Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Seaford, Yorktown, and Gloucester to name just a few. If you play a band instrument or have played one in the past and want to bring back the music, come check us out. There are NO AUDITIONS, we just ask that you share our love of band music!
If you would like to join the band you are welcome to come to any rehearsal. It would be helpful if you were able to email us first at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what instrument you play so we can pull music for you. It would also be good to make sure we are rehearsing the night you first plan to come just in case we have the night off.
We rehearse on Tuesday nights from 7:15-9pm at First Baptist Church, Newport News 12716 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606. Park in the back of the building and enter through the doors in the back of the building- the rehearsal room is on the second floor. To use the stairs, go straight when you enter, and the stairs are on the left. To use the elevator, go down the hall to the right after you enter. At the end of the hall turn left and go through two sets of doors. Important: the doors need to remain locked, so we will have someone monitoring the door between 6:30pm and 7:10pm. If you know you will be late to rehearsal, please let us know so we can arrange for somone to meet to you at the door.
Aerial to show parking and ways into the parking lot. Entrance is off the back parking lot. The picture below is the door to enter through.
